Man charged with murder over Kim Richmond's death appears in court
The man charged with the murder of Kim Richmond has appeared in the Hamilton District Court.
The 45 year old, who has interim name suppression, stood in the dock of the court on Tuesday morning.
Richmond's body was found in a Ford Ranger ute that was recovered from Lake Arapuni in the Waikato on Thursday.
She was last seen at her home in Arohena, near Te Awamutu, on July 31, 2016.
The man's lawyer, Thomas Sutcliffe, asked for interim name suppression until his client's next appearance.
He said some of his client's family members were not aware of the charge.
Judge Louis Bidois granted interim suppression and said it was unlikely the man would get permanent suppression.
Bidois remanded the man in custody until his next appearance in the High Court in Hamilton, in July.
