Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Riccarton in Christchurch last weekend.

A male victim was attacked by three other males on the corner of Riccarton Rd and Clarence St near the Windmill Centre. 

He was knocked to the ground, and later required surgery for a broken jaw.

The attack happened at about 1am on Saturday November 23.

Anyone in the area at the time who could provide information was asked to contact police on 03 363 4880 or anonymously via Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
