Man accused of murdering partner Kim Richmond granted bail

The Waikato man accused of murdering his partner Kim Richmond has been granted bail.

Cory Scott Jefferies, 45, appeared at the Hamilton High Court on Tuesday where Justice Matthew Muir granted Jefferies' electronic monitoring bail.

Details other than the verdict were suppressed.

Cory Scott Jefferies, 45, was accused of murdering his partner, Kim Louise Richmond, in July 2016.

Police said Richmond, a mother-of-three, was last seen at her home in Arohena, near Te Awamutu, in the early hours of July 31, 2016.

The police dive squad found Richmond inside her silver Ford Ranger in Arapuni Lake almost a year later on June 15.

Jefferies was arrested and charged with Richmond's murder on June 20.

He pleaded not guilty and is awaiting a trial date.
