Arson causes major damage to Housing NZ house
Hamilton police are looking for those responsible for the arson of a Housing New Zealand home.
The house at seven Shelley Court Lane in Enderley had been completely boarded up when neighbours saw smoke coming out of the windows and alerted the Fire Service at 5.30pm on Monday.
The fire caused major internal damage to the house.
There is also a tag in the house that they would like to know whose it is.
Police said in a Facebook post that given the house was boarded up the persons who lit the fire were lucky to escape unhurt.
They would like to prevent further arsons from occurring and it's likely those responsible have talked about it.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw people going to or leaving this address on Monday or from anyone who has any knowledge regarding the arson.
