A woman was pinned to an ANZ cash machine on Waihi's main street today when a car left the road and crashed into her.

The incident happened on Seddon St at 11.10am, Police Senior Sergeant Rupert Friend said.

The woman, who was aged in her 60s, suffered leg injuries and was flown to Waikato Hospital for treatment.

Friend could not explain the circumstances that led to the car crashing into the woman and the cash machine, but said the driver was cooperating with police.
