A young boy was filmed apparently drunk after consuming a lot of alcohol. The video has been digitally altered.

Three people have been charged with supplying alcohol to a minor after a nine-year-old Hamilton boy was filmed falling-down drunk.

Police said today that two men, aged 20 and 27, and a woman, 25, would appear in the Hamilton District Court on January 28. The maximum penalty for the offence was a $2000 fine.

Footage of the boy at a skate park in the city appeared on YouTube last week. He was drinking Cody's, a bourbon mixture, and staggering.

At the time, his mother said she had no idea where the alcohol had come from.

In the video, the boy says it was given to him by his "aunties".

The police and Child, Youth and Family said they were supporting the boy and his family following the incident.
