Police are trying to track down a man who inappropriately touched a 13-year-old girl during a movie at a west Auckland cinema.

A police spokeswoman said the man was seen going between all eight theatres at the West City Events Cinema in Henderson between 1pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday.

He sat down next to a girl in one theatre and, when the lights dimmed, touched her inappropriately several times.

The man left the theatre and the girl swapped seats with her brother. The offender returned but noticed the victim had moved and left again.

Police believe there may be other victims and are encouraging anyone who experienced a similar incident to contact them.
