Police have  found a methamphetamine lab in West Auckland while arresting a man for breaching his bail.

Officers arrived at Chorley Ave in Massey at 9.50am today but could not apprehend the offender because of several aggressive dogs on the property.

Animal Control arrived two hours later with police and staff smelled chemicals.

A search of the premises uncovered equipment possibly used to manufacture methamphetamine.

The scene was shut down and specialist staff were requested including the Police Clan Lab Team.

Another man and a woman were located at the address and will face drug-related charges.
