Manhunt still on as police swarm park

Police swarmed Ferrymead on Saturday night in their manhunt for James Arthur Matthew William Brown.

Aged 47, of Christchurch, Brown has been on the run since he allegedly assaulted his partner and claimed to have a gun in Cumnor Tce, Woolston on Thursday morning.

Police, including members of the armed offenders squad, blocked off streets in the area about 10pm as they searched for him. 

However, police said this morning they had yet to find him.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Sarah Illingworth said earlier Brown was wanted in connection with domestic incidents at two separate homes in Woolston on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
