Police are searching for two men who assaulted another man at a bus stop in Christchurch last night.

The attackers were believed to be aged in their early to mid 20s, and were 180-190 centimetres tall.

One was described as Maori or Polynesian, with short black hair, stocky, with small tattoos on his arms and wearing a black T-shirt and black long trousers. The other was described as European, with medium-length blonde or brown hair, wearing a white T-shirt.

The victim was taken to hospital with a broken arm and facial injuries.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the assault near the corner of Lyndon and Clarence streets about 6.30pm yesterday.
