A man wanted in connected with domestic violence incidents in the Christchurch suburb of Woolston this month has been arrested at Christchurch Hospital.

Police have confirmed that James Arthur Matthew William Brown was arrested at the hospital this afternoon.

The 47-year-old has been charged with threatening to kill, assaulting a female, assault with a weapon and intentional damage.

He has been granted police bail and will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Tuesday.

Brown had been on the run after he allegedly assaulted his partner and claimed to have a gun in Cumnor Tce, Woolston, on February 13.

He was found in hospital last week. Police said they were still investigating the circumstances of the incident that led him there.

Fairfax NZ understands Brown was run over repeatedly in a car park in Riccarton last week, suffering two broken ankles.

Police said no further comment would be made as the matter was now before the courts.
