Things are looking up for a toddler badly hurt in an alleged assault in his home on Monday.

Two-year-old Masterton boy Caleb Skinner was flown to Auckland’s Starship children’s hospital’s  with a severe head injury and bruising.  

Yesterday afternoon he was moved to a general ward, where he was in a stable condition. His father, Daryll Skinner, sent a photo of Caleb in hospital, saying his son was ‘‘getting better each day now’’.

 A 39-year-old man, who has name suppression, has been charged with assaulting Caleb.
