Armed police have busted a suspected P-lab in the upmarket Auckland suburb of Epsom.

Police executed a search warrant at 5.30am at the Manukau Road property, a police spokeswoman said.

"Some equipment believed to have been used in the manufacture of methamphetamine was recovered."

Armed police had been involved in the operation but it no weapons were reported to have been found at the scene, the spokeswoman said.

Decontamination precautions were being taken and a thorough scene examination was expected to be undertaken throughout the day.
