A five-legged sheep, miniature donkey, and bucking bull ... no, the freakshow isn't coming to Palmerston North, UCOL is holding its annual open day on August 4.
This year, the veterinary nursing department will use miniature donkeys, chickens, rabbits, and a dog, to promote its diploma programme.
Spring Grove Farm is providing the animals, which could include an appearance from its famous five-legged sheep.
Events co-ordinator Nicola Grant says the open day has a carnival atmosphere with free food, abseiling and plenty of entertainment.
This includes a bucking bull ride, sumo wrestling and live performances by UCOL's Contemporary Music students and Deaf Lemon.Stressed out students can get a massage and nail treatment. For the more athletic, there's the Exercise and Sport programme's `row off'.
Interactive displays and demonstrations represent more than 110 UCOL programmes.
There will be regular tours of the campus and up to 1500 people are expected on the day.
The open day runs from 9am to 2pm at the UCOL campus, corner of Princess and King streets.
