Hundreds of passengers arriving in Auckland Airport from North America this morning were greeted with a questionnaire and a public health warning over swine flu.

Most passengers seemed relaxed about the warnings.

American Chad Bouchard from Maine said as they got off this morning's Qantas flight from Los Angeles they were issued with a information sheet from the Department of Health alerting them to the symptoms of swine flu.

It advised them to see a doctor immediately should they show any symptoms.

An elderly couple who flew in on an Air New Zealand flight said they filled in a form giving contact details and their seat numbers.

"It was very hard to read it," said the male, who declined to be named.

Paramedics were also at the airport for the first two planes from the United States but they were not required.
