Dry patches picked for Anzac Day
Northern and eastern areas of the country have the best chance of good weather for Anzac Day dawn ceremonies tomorrow.
Areas expected by MetService to definitely be dry include Northland, Rotorua, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, the top of the South Island and Christchurch.
Tauranga looks likely to be dry although it could have cloudy periods and the chance of a light shower has not been ruled out.
Places where rain is considered to be most likely include Taranaki, Whanganui and Manawatu. On the West Coast early morning rain is expected to be heavy.
Auckland could be cloudy with a small chance of showers, Hamilton has a risk of drizzle patches, occasional showers may fall on Wellington, and light morning showers are possible in Dunedin.
Western areas expected to cop most rain tomorrow, along with the north and east of the South Island, are being offered the hope of a fine Saturday, although conditions are expected to deteriorate during Sunday.
The Sunday forecast is best for Gisborne and Hawke's Bay, while much of the rest of the country is expected to become increasingly cloudy with showers possible in many places.
