New Internet Party leader Laila Harre has recruited her former Alliance colleague, Pam Corkery, as her press secretary.

Corkery, who has been working at Newstalk ZB, was the Alliance's celebrity candidate in 1996, but made little impact as an MP and left disillusioned in 1999.

Radio Network general manager of talk Dallas Gurney said the colour Corkery brought to the station would be missed, but the door would always be open for a possible return.
