Mike Moore in legal action over leaky home
Former prime minister Mike Moore has found himself among the ranks of home owners with a leaky building.
The $1 million Auckland beachfront house he owns with wife Yvonne has been revealed to have weathertightness issues, the New Zealand Herald reported today.
"There has been a building consent issued for remedial work related to it being a leaky building," a Manukau City Council spokesman said yesterday.
"Also, there is a claim before the High Court which the council is a party to."
Mr Moore declined to discuss the house, which is at Omaha Beach in the eastern suburbs, but did say he was working through "legal issues".
Other high-profile figures hit by the leaky home issue have included fellow former prime minister Jenny Shipley, Auckland Mayor John Banks and former Fletcher Building chief executive Ralph Waters.
