Goodfellow retains National Party presidency
Peter Goodfellow has retained his post as National Party president.
The board reappointed Mr Goodfellow at its board meeting this morning following Mr Goodfellow's re-election to the board yesterday.
It followed a sometimes brutal campaign against him by Whaleoil blogger Cam Slater.
Prime Minister John Key who is a supporter of Mr Goodfellow said he was delighted at the choice.
Mr Goodfellow thanked delegates for their support and said it would ensure there was stability and continuity as election year loomed.
He echoed the Prime Minister's caution against the party becoming complacent as it basked in high polls.
Mr Goodfellow also welcomed Malcolm Plimmer onto the board. Mr Plimmer was elected yesterday taking the place of Scott Simpson who stood down. Roger Bridges was re-elected.
