Meet NZ First leader Winston Peters' dog Beau. A new addition to the Peters' household, Beau was reportedly happy to have his master home earlier this week. We wonder whether that title is used within the party?

Today we bring you the political pets edition. The political leaders have given us a few snaps to share of their furry friends, because well, it's Furry Friday. 

And another day of "soft campaigning", as the leaders hit the road ahead of their campaign launches proper. 

Prime Minister John Key has a visit to Auckland and Labour leader David Cunliffe and NZ First leader Winston Peters both happen to be in Whakatane today.
