Northland and Coromandel Peninsula: Cloudy periods and a few showers, mainly in the east. Clearing this morning.

Auckland, Waikato, Waitomo, Taumarunui, Bay of Plenty, Taupo and Taihape: Cloudy at first, fine breaks developing this morning.

Taranaki, to Wellington: Mainly fine, however low cloud or fog developing about Wellington later this morning.

Gisborne: Showers, some possibly heavy about and north of Waipiro Bay.

Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa: Mainly fine at first, but a few showers developing in Hawkes Bay this morning and from late afternoon in Wairarapa.

Nelson, Buller, Marlborough and Canterbury: Fine. However, areas of morning and evening low cloud or fog.

Westland: Cloudy periods. Becoming fine this morning.

Fiordland, Otago and Southland: Occasional rain or drizzle, easing later this morning.

Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods and patchy drizzle.

Tuesday: North Island, showers in the east, with isolated showers possible in Taupo and Taihape, mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, a few showers about and west of the Main Divide, mainly fine elsewhere.

Wednesday: North Island, mainly fine, but a few showers in Northland, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay. South Island, mainly fine, but drizzle or rain developing in Westland and Fiordland.

Thursday: North Island, mainly fine, but isolated showers possible in Northland and Taranaki. South Island, rain or showers west of the Main Divide, as well as south of Christchurch. Mainly fine elsewhere.

Friday: Rain developing everywhere for a time with heavy falls possible for Northland, Taranaki, Nelson, Buller, Westland and Fiordland.

Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods with southeasterlies on Tuesday. A few showers developing on Wednesday with strengthening southeasterlies. Showers clearing and becoming mainly fine on Thursday as southeasterlies die out. On Friday cloud increasing with strengthening northerlies.
