Short Forecast for all New Zealand
Heavy rain warnings are in place for Northland, northwest Nelson, Westland and Fiordland. A strong wind warning is also current for Northland and Auckland.

Northland and Auckland: Periods of rain, with some very heavy, possibly thundery falls and gale northeasterlies, easing in Northland this morning and Auckland during the afternoon.

Waikato to Taranaki, also Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Taupo and Gisborne: Occasional rain, with some heavy and possibly thundery falls about Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Taupo.

Whanganui to Wellington, also Taihape, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa: High cloud, with scattered rain mainly from afternoon.

Marlborough, Nelson, Buller, Westland and Fiordland: Periods of rain, with some heavy falls.

Canterbury, Otago and Southland: Rain about the Main Divide. High cloud elsewhere, with patchy rain at times.

Chatham Islands: Mostly cloudy.

Sunday: North Island, a few showers for most places, but more persistent rain in Bay of Plenty and northern Gisborne at first. South Island, rain in the north and west easing to showers, and clearing in the north, cold showery southerlies slowly spreading north in the east.

Monday: North Island, showers in the far north turning to rain,areas of morning fog then fine from Auckland to Taumarunui across to the Bay of Plenty, showers elsewhere. South Island, fine or becoming fine in the north and south, cold and showery in the south and east.

Tuesday: North Island, rain in the far north clearing, showers from South Taranaki southwards and in the east, mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, mainly fine in the north and west, showers in the east and south.

Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods, increasing on Tuesday. Northeasterlies, strong for a time late Sunday and early Monday.
