Short Forecast for all New Zealand
Northland to Kapiti, including the central high country, also Coromandel Peninsula and Bay of Plenty: Showers clearing Bay of Plenty this morning and elsewhere during the afternoon. But isolated showers persist in Northland and Auckland.

Gisborne to Wairarapa, and Wellington: Occasional showers, some heavy, with isolated thunderstorms and hail about Gisborne and Hawkes Bay afternoon and evening. Westerly gales in exposed places easing this morning.

Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury: Fine, apart from isolated early showers, and the odd afternoon or evening shower about the Marlborough ranges. Gales about Banks Peninsula easing this morning.

Buller and northern Westland: Cloudy periods and a few showers.

Southern Westland and Fiordland: Fine, but isolated showers in Fiordland.

Otago and Southland: Rain easing to isolated showers this morning as coastal gales ease, then becoming fine.

Chatham Islands: Morning rain, then a few showers.

Tuesday: Mainly fine, areas of cloud and a few showers in the west of both islands. However, rain later in the day for the west of the South Island.

Wednesday: North Island, showers turning to rain for a time. South Island west of the divide, heavy rain easing to showers. In the east, brief rain followed by showers.

Thursday: North Island, fine and cloudy periods, a few showers developing late in the west, south of Taranaki. South Island, rain or showers in the west and south. Fine with high cloud elsewhere.

Friday: North Island, fine spells and a few showers south of Auckland in the west. South Island, showers in the west and south. Fine apart from brief showers further east.

Chatham Islands: Showers on Tuesday with westerlies, turning northerly. Northerlies strengthening and rain late on Wednesday, with northwesterlies changing southwest overnight. Rain or showers with westerlies on Thursday and Friday.
