Wairarapa, Nelson and Marlborough: Becoming fine this afternoon. High cloud increasing late tomorrow.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland: Fine today. Low cloud and rain tomorrow.

Canterbury and Otago: Fine spells today. Scattered light rain tomorrow morning, then mainly fine. However, a few coastal showers late afternoon or evening, with a southerly change.

Wednesday: North Island, mostly sunny, though cloud increasing from Taranaki to Kapiti. South Island, rain spreading up the west coast and some showers in the far south. Mainly fine elsewhere.

Thursday: North Island, fine, apart from some drizzle in the west at first. South Island, showers in the west and far south. Mainly fine elsewhere.

Friday: North Island, mainly fine, though cloud in the north and west. South Island, showers in the west and far south. Mainly fine elsewhere.

Chatham Islands: A period of rain on Tuesday with northerlies turning southwest. Mainly fine on Wednesday with northwesterlies developing. Showers developing on Thursday with winds tending strong west or southwest.
