Northland, Auckland and Coromandel: Cloudy periods, with a few light showers clearing this afternoon.

The remainder of the North Island: Fine, apart from areas of morning and evening cloud.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland: Cloud increasing. Rain developing south of the Glaciers this morning, and drizzle developing further north from afternoon.

The remainder of the South Island: Fine, apart from areas of high cloud.

Chatham Islands: Increasing fine spells. Remaining showers clearing this morning.

Sunday: North Island, fine in the east, cloudy periods elsewhere,but drizzle from Taranaki to Wellington. Severe northwest gales about Wellington and Wairarapa. South Island, heavy rain in the west and a period of rain in the south. High cloud elsewhere. Severe northwest gales in the south and east.

Monday: North Island, a period of rain then clearing with northwesterlies easing. South Island, showery in the south and west with snow about the ranges. Rain in the north clearing early on.

Tuesday: A few showers.

Chatham Islands: Mainly fine on Sunday and Monday with strong northwesterlies, but rain from late Monday, clearing Tuesday.
