Short Forecast for all New Zealand
Northland, Auckland, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty: Periods of rain with some heavy falls. A few thunderstorms possible in Northland this evening.

From Waikato to Taranaki, including Taumarunui, Taupo and Taihape: Cloud increasing. Rain gradually spreading southwards today, with some heavy falls.

From Whanganui to Wellington, including Wairarapa: Mainly fine, however rain developing this evening.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Cloud increasing. Scattered rain in Gisborne, spreading to Hawkes Bay this afternoon.

Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago and Southland: Fine. High cloud developing over Nelson and Marlborough.

Buller and Westland: Mostly fine, however a few showers in Westland retreating to the south this evening.

Fiordland: Showers, mainly about the fiords.

Chatham Islands: Rain clearing before dawn, then mostly fine.

Thursday: North Island, rain with heavy falls in the north and west, easing. A period of rain for southern and eastern areas. South Island, rain in the west spreading northwards, with heavy, thundery falls. Fine in the east, late showers in the south.

Friday: North Island, showers in the west, turning to rain for a time with heavy falls. Rain developing in the east from afternoon. South Island, showers in the west, some heavy and thundery. High cloud in the east, and a few showers in the south.

Saturday: North Island, occasional rain, clearing in the east, heavy falls in the west easing. Late showers in the south. South Island, showers, snow to low levels, gradually easing in the north and west.

Chatham Islands: Rain with heavy falls developing Thursday and northerlies rising to gale, easing to showers Friday with northerlies easing slightly. Rain returning Saturday, and northerlies rising to gale.
