Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Taupo: Cloudy or becoming cloudy. A few showers developing this morning, clearing in Auckland this afternoon and elsewhere tonight.

Waikato to Wellington, also Taihape and Wairarapa: Scattered showers clearing this morning and fine breaks developing.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Cloudy. Occasional showers, retreating to the ranges this evening.

Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury and Buller: Remaining showers clearing this morning and fine breaks developing. Isolated afternoon and evening showers about the Southern Alps and inland places further north.

Westland and Fiordland: Fine.

Otago: Areas of morning cloud. Chance of an afternoon shower about North Otago.

Southland: A few showers this morning. Sunny breaks inland this afternoon.

Chatham Islands: Mostly cloudy with occasional light showers.

Sunday: North Island, a few showers, but mainly fine from Taranaki to Wellington and along the east coast. South Island, mainly fine in the west and south, but a few afternoon and evening showers inland, and cloud and patchy drizzle in eastern Marlborough and Canterbury.

Monday: North Island, some rain or showers in most places, but just a few drizzle patches south of the Manawatu Gorge. South Island, mainly fine in the west and south, but cloud and patchy drizzle near the east coast, and isolated afternoon and evening showers inland.

Tuesday: Rain or showers spreading to most places. Mainly dry in Southland and Otago but a few showers or patchy drizzle about the coast.

Chatham Islands: Mostly cloudy throughout the period, and possibly the odd shower. Southwesterlies gradually easing, and dying out on Tuesday.
