Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Mainly fine.

Waikato to Kapiti, including the central high country: Becoming cloudy tomorrow, with patchy drizzle, especially in the evening.

Wellington and Wairarapa: Cloudy periods tomorrow, with rain developing about the Tararua Range later in the day.

Nelson and Marlborough: Fine at first. Rain developing about the western ranges late afternoon, becoming heavy at night, with scattered falls spreading further east.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland: Rain with some heavy falls spreading north tomorrow to reach Buller by evening, then clearing south of the Glaciers.

Canterbury, Otago and Southland: High cloud tonight. Scattered showers tomorrow.

Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods, with a few showers late tomorrow.

Monday: North Island, Rain for most places, clearing south of Waitomo to Hawkes Bay. South Island, Rain north of Westport and Kaikoura, easing to isolated showers and retreating to the ranges. Fine in the west, a few showers elsewhere clearing.

Tuesday: North Island, Rain north of Waikato. Elsewhere, becoming fine early, but rain developing later in the west, and high cloud increasing in the east. South Island, Mainly fine at first, rain developing, heavy in the west, but just scattered falls in the east, clearing later but showers remain in Fiordland.

Wednesday: North Island, Fine with high cloud in the east.Showers elsewhere, some possibly heavy. South Island, Showers for most places, heavy in the west.

Chatham Islands: A period of rain with a southerly change on Monday. A few showers on Tuesday, turning to rain with strong northerlies developing. Rain easing to a few showers on Wednesday.
