Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Isolated afternoon showers about the ranges today, some possibly heavy.Becoming cloudy tomorrow morning with isolated showers, clearing later.

Whanganui to Wellington, also Wairarapa: Mainly fine. However, isolated showers about Wellington and southern Wairarapa tonight, clearing tomorrow morning.

Nelson, Buller and Westland: Mostly fine. Isolated showers in west clearing this afternoon, odd one in Nelson.

Marlborough and Canterbury: Fine spells. Cloud increasing this afternoon, and a few showers developing, mainly about the ranges, clearing later.

Fiordland, Otago and Southland: Rain clearing by evening. Drizzle developing in Fiordland and Stewart Island around midday tomorrow, turning to rain later.

Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods, with a few showers tomorrow morning.

Friday: North Island, fine spells and isolated showers north of Coromandel Peninsula, and also in Bay of Plenty and the ranges of Gisborne, some possibly heavy. Mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, mainly fine in the far north and Westland, cloudy periods with a few showers elsewhere.

Saturday: North Island, fine spells and isolated showers north of Taihape, and mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, mainly fine in the far north and Westland, cloudy periods with a few showers elsewhere.

Chatham Islands: Long fine spells, then cloudy periods and a few showers from late Friday. Light winds throughout the period.
