Short Forecast for all New Zealand
Northland to the Kapiti Coast, including Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and the central high country : Showers, some heavy with hail and possible thunderstorms, easing and becoming isolated south of Whanganui in the morning and elsewhere later. Snow about the Dessert Road in the morning.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Mainly fine, but isolated showers spreading from the ranges at times.

Wellington and Wairarapa : Isolated showers, possibly heavy in the north today, retreating to coastal Wairarapa tomorrow.

Western Nelson, Buller, Westland and Fiordland : Periods of rain, heavy at times, with squally thunderstorms and hail until morning. Snow lowering to 200 metres in Fiordland overnight.

Remainder of Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury : Mainly fine, but isolated showers till this evening.

Otago and Southland: Fine at first. Showers with cold southwesterlies spreading north overnight, and snow lowering to 200 metres, then clearing from the north later tomorrow.

Chatham Islands: Periods of rain, some heavy with hail tomorrow. Gale southwesterlies tomorrow.

Saturday: North Island, a period of rain for most places with possible heavy falls in the west. South Island, rain with some heavy and possibly thundery falls in the west. Showers in the south, with snow to low levels later. Mostly fine elsewhere.

Sunday: Showers in the west and central North Island, and the west and south of the South Island. Snow to low levels in the far south. Mostly fine elsewhere.

Monday: A period of rain and northwesterlies for western areas, followed by a few showers in the south and east with cold southerlies.

Chatham Islands: Showers, mainly morning and evening on Saturday as southwest winds turn strong northerly. On Sunday, early rain followed by showers, with strong southwesterlies. On Monday, showers and strong westerlies.
