Short Forecast for all New Zealand
Northland to Taranaki and Taupo, including Coromandel and Bay of Plenty: Showers, some heavy with thunderstorms possible, clearing south of Waikato tomorrow evening.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Mainly fine today, but showers about Gisborne tonight. Southerlies and showers spreading north tomorrow afternoon.

Whanganui, Taihape and Manawatu: Mainly fine with the odd shower today. Southerlies with showers for a time tomorrow.

Kapiti Coast, Wellington and Wairarapa: Fine spells and isolated showers in the west today. Periods of rain with southerlies tomorrow.

Marlborough and Canterbury: Fine spells today. Showers with southerlies tomorrow.

Nelson: Showers, some heavy and possibly thundery, clearing east of Takaka tomorrow afternoon.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland: Showers, mainly north of the Glaciers clearing overnight.

Otago and Southland: Rain becoming widespread by evening, turning to showers tomorrow then retreating to Southland and Dunedin in the evening.

Chatham Islands: Rain at times.
Extended Short Forecast for all New Zealand
Friday: A few showers in the north, clearing afternoon, and a few morning showers in the east and south. Fine or becoming fine elsewhere, but cloud increasing in the evening in the far south and about Cook Strait.

Saturday: North Island, cloud increasing, and rain developing north of Waikato from afternoon. South Island, cloud increasing, rain developing in the west and south with some heavy falls.

Sunday: North Island, rain spreading to most areas, with heavy falls possible north of Bay of Plenty, easing later. South Island, Rain with some ehavy falls in the west, and south of about Dunedin, snow lowering to 500 metres in the far south. High cloud in the east.

Chatham Islands: Occasional rain clearing Friday afternoon, and strong cold southerlies easing in the evening. Cloudy periods on Saturday and northwesterlies strengthening, rain developing later on Sunday.
