Short Forecast for all New Zealand
Northland, to Manawatu, including Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty, and the central high country: A few showers, some heavy and squally from Waitomo southwards this morning, then showers becoming isolated from afternoon.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Fine weather. Severe westerly gales in exposed places south of Hastings, easing this afternoon.

Horowhenua Kapiti Coast, Wellington and Wairarapa: Often cloudy. Some afternoon showers.

Nelson and Marlborough: Areas of cloud and isolated showers.

Canterbury, Otago: Occasional rain, with snow to 700 metres in the south, clearing Otago this morning and Canterbury this afternoon.

Buller and Westland: Showers north of Hokitika, clearing this afternoon, then returning tonight. Otherwise, fine.

Fiordland, Southland: Fine spells increasing this morning. However, a few showers developing about the fiords towards evening.

Chatham Islands: Occasional rain and low cloud.

Sunday: North Island, a few showers in the west from Waikato to Kapiti,mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, rain in the west, and a period of rain for Southland and Otago. Fine elsewhere.

Monday: North Island, a few showers in the west, mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, rain or showers in west and far south, with snow lowering to 500 metres in the south. Mainly fine elsewhere.

Tuesday: Remaining showers, and snow flurries to 500 metres in Southland, clearing and becoming mainly fine. However, a few showers developing about the east coast of the North Island.

Chatham Islands: Showers clearing and southwesterlies easing on Sunday. Cloudy periods on Monday, with northwest winds developing. Showers developing on Tuesday behind a strong, cold southwest change.
