The wife of high-profile businessman Sir Patrick Goodman has been killed and he has been injured in a car crash in Australia.
Hilary, Lady Goodman, 72, died on Sunday when the car Sir Pat, 86, was driving crashed in the Southern Highlands, about 130km southwest of Sydney.
New South Wales police said a Mercedes Benz crashed into a parked car on Berrima Road at Moss Vale, about 2.45pm.
The impact caused the Mercedes to flip onto its roof.
Hilary Goodman, who was understood to be in the front passenger seat, died at the scene.
Her husband suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bowral Hospital.
He was discharged to another hospital today, Bowral Hospital told Fairfax Media tonight.
It did not say where he had been transferred, but Fairfax Media understands it is a Sydney hospital.
Crash investigators from Wollongong had asked for witnesses.
Sir Pat, businessman, arts patron and philanthropist, co-founded trans-Tasman food giant Goodman Fielder Wattie, a company which was once a leader in the global food industry.
Sir Pat was the master dealmaker who built the company up from humble beginnings in Motueka.
Within a few years he and his brother Peter's original $2000 investments had become $1 million. Sir Pat is a former chief executive and chairman of Goodman Fielder Wattie. His family is listed on the NBR's New Zealand Rich List.
