Broods, a band in collaboration with Lorde's producer, has flown to the top of the charts this week.

The song Mother and Father by Nelson siblings Georgia and Caleb Nott - also known as Broods - took out top Kiwi single.

The simple video clip features a grooving Georgia channelling 90s nostalgia, complete with choker chains and a nose ring. Her voice, however, is fresh, if a little over-produced.

The Auckland-based duo have once again worked with Lorde's producer, Joel Little, resulting in an anthemic jam.

Their first single, Bridges went to number eight on the singles chart. We can expect an album from them in August -- it'll be one to look out for.

Meanwhile, in top album category, Ed Sheeran has again nudged ahead of Devilskin to claim top spot.

At number three, Eric Clapton pays tribute to one of his influences and collaborators, the late J J Cale on album The Breeze: An appreciation of J J Cale.

The humdrum but catchy tune Budapest by George Ezra is the number one single for the week, up from number three last week.

British singer-songwriter Sam Smith's single I'm not the only one is new this week at number 19. The song features on his debut studio album In the Lonely Hour which charts at number four.
