Picton man Terry Brown says designs for a water park he plans to build in Picton are expected to be finalised in the next three weeks.
Brown, who is suing Timaru District Council on the grounds it did not deliver a pump and stairs included with a hydroslide he bought for $10,000, said the designs for the water park were almost finished.
While he originally wanted to put the hydroslide on Picton's foreshore, he changed tack and purchased 3.6 hectares of land on State Highway 1, just before the entrance to Picton, for the water park.
After the designs were finalised, he would apply for resource consent, he said.
The water park would have at least two pools, waterbikes, zorb balls - large inflated balls people can walk in - and new water slides, he said. Transportation from the foreshore was also planned.
