The Warehouse store in Richmond is on track to open at the end of August.

Located in the new complex at 186 Queen St, the new store will measure around 3500 square metres, and is expected to be open to the public from August 28.

Chief executive Simon Turner said The Warehouse was committed to making bargains accessible for every New Zealander.

"Richmond is a growing demographic and we have invested considerable time in finding a suitable location for this store to ensure we offer people in the region better access to great products, well-known brands and of course very low prices."

He said it would create new jobs and add another shopping destination alongside existing stores.

The store will use a modernised format. He said it was being constructed as part of a wider redevelopment programme as the company sought to upgrade other stores throughout the country.
