The Motueka-Golden Bay News and the Richmond-Waimea Leader are merging into one expanded publication covering the whole of Tasman district.

The development of our new publication, the Tasman Leader, recognises the growing importance of Tasman as one region and the need to bring the best of what the whole community has to offer to its readers and advertisers alike.

From July 4 the Tasman Leader will be delivered to more than 20,000 households from Richmond to Murchison, Tapawera to Collingwood and Motueka to Mapua.

It is with sadness we mark the end of the Motueka-Golden Bay News which reached its 50th year of publication this year and the Richmond-Waimea Leader. However the need to rationalise costs, recognise the distinct growth of our district and position the Tasman Leader as the best community news and advertising vehicle is behind the change.

We remain committed to community news and the communities we represent and look forward to bringing you the best from the best region in New Zealand.
