Noisia to return for Phat Fringe
Relevant offers
No need for electronic music fans to feel left out of the arts festival activities, with premier Dutch drum'n'bass producers Noisia staging a return to New Zealand and the Phat Club next Thursday night, as part of the Phat Fringe.
Noisia are firmly established in the global drum'n'bass scene (and have occasionally broken out into more mainstream arenas, such as a Heineken beer commercial in America and in various video games), and have collaborated with or remixed for, among numerous others, names as varied as Amon Tobin, KRS-One and the Prodigy.
To Kiwis, they're probably best remembered for their appearance at the Phat09 festival at Inangahua and in a recent interview they raved about the Phat experience. They are in the process of recording their first album which they say will encapsulate their varied styles beyond pure drum'n'bass.
Noisia will be supported at the Phat Club by Organikismness and Borderline; tickets are $25 at Everyman Records or $40 on the door.
Also at the Phat Club – the return of the Diamond Dolls burlesque troupe, with their show Behind the Velvet Curtain offering a sultry touch to Phat Fringe, tomorrow night. The show tells the stories of the Diamond Dolls and is followed by an after party DJ-ed by Miss Pussy Willow. Tickets are $25 on the door, from 9pm.
And on Saturday night, Auckland drum'n'bass DJ Bulletproof performs, along with Borderline and Roast Kru.
