Celebrated Kiwi musician Don McGlashan will perform at this year's MarchFest.
The craft beer and music festival will be held at Founders Heritage Park in April this year and will feature a range of music styles along with a range of beers.
Joining McGlashan will be Christchurch band The Eastern, Wellington band The Shot Band and Nelson musicians Ras Judah and Daham, The Immigrants and the La Vida String Quartet. To add an international flavour to the festival will be the Carmen Salvador Band, from Chile.
Organised by Dead Good Beer Events, the festival is now in its third year and will feature 11 new local craft beers and two new ciders created especially.
MarchFest will be held on April 17 to get away from the overcrowded summer festival calendar, co-organiser Eelco A Boswijk said.
"One of our main sponsors is Nelson Tasman Tourism and they want to support more shoulder season events that can attract out of town visitors as well as locals."
Mr Boswijk said he was happy with the "eclectic" lineup of performers.
MarchFest will also feature food, children's entertainment and will be sustainable. Organisers hope to include various alternative energy sources for activities, including bicycle-powered amps for the musicians.
- Tickets cost $25 ($20 for earlybird sales) and are available from Nelson Escapes, Nelson Building Society branches, or online at iticket.co.nz. There may be a booking fee. Under-18-year-olds are free if accompanied by a parent/caregiver. Go to marchfest.com for full details.
