Fans snapped up tickets when the Flight of the Conchords announced their national tour, with Nelson no exception.

Sold out in almost every venue – and three times over in their home town, Wellington – Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie will play to a packed house at Nelson's Trafalgar Centre on Wednesday night. The pair last played here at Neudorf Vineyards in 2006, but they'll return as heroes. United States comedian Arj Barker, who played pawnshop owner Dave in the Conchords' hit HBO show, will appear as a special guest.

Since their underground beginnings as students at Victoria University, the Conchords have reached unmatched heights: an Oscar for McKenzie, an Emmy nomination for Clement, a Grammy win for both, a Simpsons cameo, and Clement's acting stints in Hollywood films Despicable Me and Men In Black III.
