Music festivals come and go, which is what makes the annual Phat parties at Inangahua such a rare breed and every New Year, the satisfied punters keep coming back for another major dose of bass.
This compilation of choice tracks from the event's best drum n bass and dubstep acts doesn't immediately set out to be a speaker-bursting, sweat-raising affair, perhaps reflecting the mellow setting in the Kiwi bush.
State of Mind's remix of Dark Times will get those leg and shoulder muscles nicely loosened up before the arresting Thinking Cap from the Upbeats. Salmonella Dub, Optimus Gryme and our own Organikismness also show that you don't have to be furious to be effective, before Trei's Justifyand Teknik's remix of Tiki's Watcha Got arrive to up the tempo, and Agent Alvin skilfully warps Minuit's Daddy-O, with a surprise from Concord Dawn to finish.
Check out the nifty DVD doco too.
