Donna Armstrong has found inspiration all over the world.

Around her she sees more ideas than she could ever capture, "Ideas that are inspired by the colour, texture and beauty all around us."

Armstrong has seen that beauty in places as diverse as Fiji, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand and all take a position in her first exhibition at Fibre Spectrum.

She lived in Fiji as a teenager when her father started the South Pacific Timber Mill and then later moved to Africa with her husband.

She says she is a confirmed "fabricaholic" and Global Threads is a collection of varied pieces of contemporary quilt art, mostly wall hangings.

"It's just one of my passions, I just love it. I am a very enthusiastic collector."

It helps, she says, to see inspiration everywhere she goes. "It has been a pleasure to put these Global Threads together."
