Are you a poet wanting to capture the essence of Onetahua? A musician wanting to turn the sound of wind blowing over sand into a symphony? A songwriter wanting to compose a waiata A painter catching birds flying across The Spit?

Whatever your art, craft or nga toi discipline the Onetahua Farewell Spit Residency provides an opportunity to spend time in this unique environment developing work for exhibition, alongside other artists, to be shown at Art Bank, Takaka.

The Onetahua/Farewell Spit Residency is now open for applications from artists who want to spend 5 days being inspired by the ever changing landscape and history of this unique place.

The Residency runs from September 18 to September 22 with an exhibition of work inspired by the time spent at Farewell Spit, at Art Bank in Takaka over Easter 2018 for a month. 12 artists will be selected;  10 from Golden Bay and two from the wider Tasman and Nelson region.

The Residency costs $350 and includes all exhibition costs, accommodation and return transport from Collingwood to Farewell Spit. For further information and an application form please contact Simon Gray at gbartsnz@gmail.com The application deadline is Thursday June 15.
