The swimming ban in the Haven because of a sewage leak has been lifted over part of the affected area.
Nelson City Council lifted the ban yesterday after water quality testing gave the all-clear.
Last Thursday the council issued a no-swimming and recreational use warning after a leaking pipe was discovered north of Marybank Rd, which caused sewage to overflow.
Signs were put up warning of the no-go zone at Tahunanui Beach and the Port areas.
Those signs have been removed, but restrictions are still in place in the Haven area north of Akersten St. The council has asked people not take to the water in this area until warning signs have been removed.
