Book store shifting

Nelson's "new-age" book and gift specialist store Possibilities has closed its doors in Hardy St, but customers need not despair - it is set to pop up again in spring in a new location in Halifax St.

Owner Avery Dash opened the store 22 years ago, against advice "it would never work", but he knew better.

He said it had been a good success story for a small specialty store. He was now looking forward to taking a small break before reinventing the business in premises next to Tozzetti Panetteria in spring.

Dash said he wasn't sure yet if it was to be a temporary or long-term option, but it made sense to shift to a smaller venue.

He said other than the new-age books he sold, which were very popular, his top selling item up to a few years ago was dragons, for reasons he could not explain.
