Two men charged following a serious assault that has left a 40-year-old man in a critical condition in hospital have their names suppressed.
The victim was transferred to Wellington Hospital with serious head injuries after the attack outside a Rutherford St house shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday.
A 19-year-old and a 27-year-old appeared in Nelson District Court yesterday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Their names were suppressed and they have been remanded to appear in court again on Monday.
The injured man initially admitted in a critical condition but was yesterday in a stable condition in Wellington Hospital's intensive care unit.
