Emergency services battled to control a house fire in Richmond this morning that left a house severely damaged.

Four fire engines, police and ambulance from Richmond and Stoke were at the scene in Wilde Ave, behind Gladstone Rd, where the single level house with an attached carport appeared to be extensively damaged.

Richmond station officer Craig Clayworth said the fire was fully involved when rescue services arrived, but it was mostly under control by 10am.

No injuries were sustained as the occupants had evacuated, but the front and interior of the Wilde St house sustained heavy damage. He said the cause of the fire was yet undetermined.

‘‘Once it’s dampened down, we’ll take a look.’’
