Dogs await owner's trial
Owner Milli Pritchard's dogs are back in the Nelson City Council pound as she waits to go on trial.
The Nelson woman was pulled over by police outside Hamilton in May when she was found with her two dogs, Ruckus and Vixen in the car. The dogs were taken from the pound earlier that month after being seized in March following an alleged attack on a jogger.
Pritchard is facing two counts each of being in possession of a dog unlawfully uplifted from custody; being the owner of a dog which has attacked a person, and failure to muzzle a dog.
She thanked Judge Couch in court yesterday as he said he hoped the hearing would go ahead as quickly as possible for the sake of the dogs.
