Nelson man Andy Williams has started a fundraising page to help Golden Bay lighting consultant Ben Clegg replace the $1200 worth of lights he had stolen.
Williams thought Clegg deserved support to help him replace his lights as he had given so much to Nelson.
Williams said he was loosely affiliated with the first Light Nelson and saw Clegg supply a lot of his own gear for the event. Clegg also did a lot for other festivals in the region.
Five of Clegg's LED lighting bricks were stolen over the weekend, four of them from the outside of Old St John's on Hardy St.
Williams has set up a page on the Givealittle website.
