A handful of finalists in the New Zealand Radio Awards are from Nelson.
Community radio station Fresh FM scored three finalist spots for world music programme The World of Leopold Bloom, Simon Thomas' Six Degrees show, which traces weird and unlikely links between musicians, and the Inclusion Fusion show, produced by Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology health and social sciences tutor Ron Main and his students.
Station manager Mike Williams said its programmes claimed more than half the finalist positions available across the two categories the station qualified for in the annual awards.
Meanwhile, Jacinth Rowland and Jeff Mahon of ZM Nelson are finalists in the best individual radio station promotion category for the ZM Coruba Gold Summer Break 08, and Sarah Derecourt of Mediaworks Radio Nelson has been named as a finalist in the best client promotion category.
The winners will be announced on May 9 at a gala awards night in Auckland.
