McNeill might make your day

Last year he jumped off Auckland's Sky Tower and was buried alive, and this year Nelson man Grant McNeill has a whole new set of challenges to make the world a happier place.
Mr McNeill's latest campaign, which will run throughout September, is called 30 Random Acts of Kindness.
It kicks off on Monday, and during the month the 33-year-old father of two will be spreading a little joy, doing things such as delivering toys to the children's ward at hospital, dressing up as an animal to help sell cupcakes to raise money for the SPCA, and paying for people's petrol.
Last year Mr McNeill faced 30 of his fears in 30 days, but this year he was concentrating on giving back to the community.
"We live in this society where many of us will walk past the person who needs a hand or turn away when someone asks us for help," he said.
"I want to show people that goodwill breeds goodwill. I mean, how much better would the world be if we were just a little nicer to each other?"
He said the inspiration for 30 Random Acts of Kindness came from a kind act by a stranger.
"I was at the supermarket with a trolley full of stuff, but I found myself a dollar short. The guy behind me paid for me and it really made my day and got me thinking."
During the month, videos will be uploaded on to www.30days.co.nz where people can log their own random acts of kindness to win dinner at Little India restaurant.
