Police are following up a reported sighting of missing Nelson teenager Leo Lipp-Neighbours in Christchurch, but still have concerns for his safety.
Mr Lipp-Neighbours, 19, was last seen at his Watson St, Nelson, flat at 4am on Sunday after earlier being at the Phat Club in Nelson.
He left the flat in a distinctive orange 1987 Toyota Corolla station wagon, registration number NQ7258. Police are not treating his disappearance as suspicious, and said they have concerns about his state of mind at the time he left his flat.
His disappearance is said to be out of character. Senior Constable Phil Wylie of Nelson said a person who had followed the case in Christchurch thought they saw Mr Lipp-Neighbours there and that report was being followed up.
Police have not recovered the vehicle which is believed to be central to locating him.
