Nathan McCrorie's partner already thinks he's Superman, but a new fundraising calendar has cemented that belief.
Mr McCrorie is one of 13 Nelson dads who posed for the 2008 Nelson Plunket "Down to Earth Dads" fundraising calendar which was to be launched on Saturday.
It follows on from a highly successful 2007 "Yummy Mummy" calendar which attracted orders from around the world.
Mr McCrorie, who posed with nine-month old twins Luca and Eden for the December image, said it was an enjoyable process and he did not take too much persuading to be involved.
Mr McCrorie's partner Rachael Teece said she did not mind that he would be a pin-up boy in homes around Nelson and New Zealand.
"He's a great dad. He is a Superman."
"It is for a good cause."
Plunket volunteer Vanessa O'Brien said the first print run of last year's calendars sold out, and orders were received from as far away as the United States, raising thousands of dollars for Plunket.
There was a "general consensus" among Plunket parents that this year's calendar should celebrate dads, she said.
Miss O'Brien said most fathers were happy to pose in the calendar, which was photographed by Melinda Baigent who donated her time to the project.
Most of the fathers were depicted doing everyday activities or at work, except for Mr McCrorie and another father who tastefully posed naked.
"I don't think he goes to work naked," she laughed.
The calendar was being launched at a function at Liquid Bar tonight, and will be on sale for $15 from Page and Blackmore and on Internet auction site Trademe.
Local businesses had again been very supportive of the project, which meant all money raised from the calendars would go to Plunket, Miss O'Brien said.
