Witnesses are still being sought after an unprovoked St Patrick's Day attack left a Nelson man with serious injuries.
The 38-year-old victim was beaten in the men's toilets at the Vic Mac's Brew Bar in Trafalgar St at 11.30pm on Wednesday. The Nelson man was flown to Wellington Hospital for surgery and he was discharged today.
Detective Sergeant Craig Johnston, of the Nelson CIB, said a Canadian or American tourist who had walked in on the attack had not yet been located, and police wanted to talk to him.
The attacker has been described by police as a skinhead.
