Nelson police have concluded their investigations into complaints against Nelson insolvency practitioner Pat Norris.

Nelson Bays area commander Inspector Brian McGurk confirmed that an assault complaint had been investigated but police had decided not to prosecute. Meanwhile, a complaint from South Canterbury Finance related to Mr Norris' work as an insolvency practitioner was referred to the Companies Office, he said.

The Companies Office has repeatedly said it is not investigating Mr Norris, although The Nelson Mail understands that some of its investigators have visited Nelson, meeting Mr Norris and people representing companies he has been associated with.

A Companies Office spokeswoman said investigators made inquiries and determined whether or not an investigation was required.

"Not all complaints are upheld, and frequently the Companies Office can be satisfied that there is no cause for an official investigation. After some inquiries by the national enforcement unit, a recent complaint to the Companies Office regarding Pat Norris has been closed," she said.
