Aftershock in Takaka?

A Golden Bay resident believes yesterday's magnitude 5.1 aftershock sent part of her low brick fence tumbling at her Takaka home.

Linda Millar said she didn't feel yesterday's magnitude 5.1 quake, which occurred in Christchurch shortly before 8am, but she heard about it on the radio. Shortly after, she walked past her 1-metre high fence, "and it had gone `flomp'.

"It was really unusual ... It's a block fence and the mortar was probably getting a bit thin, but you would really have to push it for it to fall over like that," she said.
