Sylvia Dallyn had planned to treat her trip to the supermarket as a "normal shop", but after a 90-second dash she said her shopping experience was "crazy".
Mrs Dallyn raced around New World Nelson City yesterday, trying to grab $500 worth of groceries in 90 seconds, in the Nestle/New World Grocery Grab 2012.
Fellow shoppers moved out of the way and stared as Mrs Dallyn grabbed instant noodles, rump steak and chocolate.
"I was completely blank, all I could see were these groceries just flying at me."
She did not have a strategy for the time limit but had been hoping to have time to grab some chocolate.
She managed to pick up multiple boxes of chocolate, along with enough groceries for two weeks.
She even remembered the family cat in the 90 seconds, grabbing numerous tins of cat food.
Mrs Dallyn could not remember the item her husband had purchased to win the competition but she was more than happy to do the shopping on his behalf.
She spent $414.32 in the 90 seconds, and even remembered her Fly Buys card.
"It was good fun and a great experience," she said.
