A 20-year-old rider who was thrown from her horse at Rabbit Island was flown to Nelson Hospital by the Nelson Marlborough rescue helicopter yesterday
A St John spokesman said the woman, who was riding at the back of Rabbit Island yesterday afternoon, suffered moderate back and neck injuries. She was treated and discharged, a hospital spokeswoman said.
On Saturday, the helicopter was called out to Okiwi Bay after a 42-year-old woman suffered a dislocated shoulder. A rescue helicopter spokesman said the woman was running on a track when she slipped and fell. She was also taken to Nelson Hospital.
