Nelson police are still investigating a complaint that a woman was sexually assaulted after her car broke down.
Detective Sergeant Ian Langridge, of Nelson, said police were interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen a light coloured vehicle, similar to a Nissan Skyline or Nissan Silvia, with four people in it parked on Suffolk Rd about 10pm on Friday, July 20. The vehicle was parked facing towards Nelson.
A woman, in her early 40s, told police she was sexually assaulted by two men who stopped her as she was walking home along Ngawhatu Valley Rd that night.
The woman told police the men were in a car with two other occupants and stopped her as she was walking home after her car - a small red vehicle - broke down. It had a mechanical fault so she had left it parked on Ngawhatu Valley Rd.
Mr Langridge said the case feartured on TV show Police 10/7 last Thursday night.
Police were still looking for any information in relation to the alleged incident including sightings of the car seen on Suffolk Rd or other cars seen in the Ngawhatu area with four people in them.
Information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers, phone 0800 555 111 or contact Mr Langridge at 03 545 9815.
