Some Nelson residents are without a phone service because of a cable fault.
The fault has affected homes in the Hampden St area around Wigzell Park
Hampden St resident Dianne Goodwin said she had not had landline service since Monday, and although she had been told she would be reconnected by her phone provider by yesterday afternoon, this morning she was still disconnected.
Chorus spokesman Robin Kelly said a cable fault caused by water leakage was found on Monday, and had affected up to 200 customers in the area.
A small section of the copper cable had had to be replaced, but work on the repairs was now complete, and the vast majority of customers would have had service back by Tuesday.
Customers still without service should contact their phone company to report a fault.
